Personal Urgent Need (PUN) Fund
Each year, the Tri-City Elder Coalition holds Seniors Night Out, its’ annual fundraiser. A portion of the funds raised by this event are contributed to the Personal Urgent Need (PUN) Fund.
The PUN Fund’s objective is to assist older adults in need ages 60 and above living in Fremont, Newark or Union City in obtaining goods or services to improve their health, safety, or quality of life.
PUN Fund Guidelines:
- The request can be made by anyone who thinks an older adult in the community could benefit from it.
- The request must be for someone who is 60+ and resides in the Tri-City area (Fremont, Newark, or Union City, CA).
- The request should be for a one time need, not for
ongoing expenses.
The request should be for an item or service not covered by insurance, community or government resources. - The grants are available on an annual basis for up to $600 per person or in smaller request amounts not to exceed $600 in one year.
If you know of someone who you feel could get assistance from the PUN Fund, please call the Senior Helpline at (510) 574-2041. An intake specialist and/or care management team will assess the request.
In order to continue to provide this very important benefit, donations and sponsorships are needed to sustain the program. To make a donation, you can:
- Make a check payable to Tri-City Elder Coalition
- Support Seniors Night Out. Sponsor a Senior and/or attend Seniors Night Out, usually held in the Fall of each year. Contact the City of Fremont’s Human Services Department at (510) 574-2050.
