Tri-City Elder Coalition

Personal Urgent Need (PUN) Fund

One of the benefits of membership in Tri City Elder Coalition is access to the Personal Urgent Need Fund (PUN). The PUN Fund’s goal is to assist older adults in need ages 60 and above living in Fremont, Newark or Union City in obtaining goods or services to improve their health, safety, or quality of life.

Only members of the Tri City Elder Coalition may make a referral to the PUN Fund. The request should be for a one time need, not for ongoing expenses. It should be for an item or service not covered by insurance, community or government resources. These grants are available on an annual basis for up to $400 per person or in smaller request amounts not to exceed $400 in one year.

Each request should be submitted for consideration to the PUN Fund Manager. A decision to accept or deny the request will be made in a timely manner by the Manager. If the request is approved, the item or service must be purchased by the person/agency submitting the request and delivered to the client. A receipt substantiating the purchase must in turn be submitted to the City of Fremont for reimbursement.

For more information, please call the PUN fund manager at (510) 742-4844.
